On June 13, 2021, Irvine-based Frost Giant Studios premiered its new game, Stormgate, at the PC Gaming Show. The founders of Frost Giant Studios are former Blizzard developers Tim Morten and Tim Campbell, who were involved in the creation of best-selling PC games and esport competitions including WarCraft III and StarCraft II. Stormgate is a science fantasy real-time strategy game that blends sci-fi and fantasy genres in one storyline. The game is set to launch in 2024 for the PC and is free-to-play.
Gameplay Preview

Mechanics and Units
The mechanics within Stormgate are inspired by traditional Blizzard RTS right-click UI. The game also features resources, such as the second tech resource that encourages players to over-mine. Doing so depletes the pool of resources, while under-mining allows the resource to regrow.
